Since 2018, Timisoara has become part of this global event by organising the first edition of the Men’s Health Charity Parade. Until today, in Timisoara, a total of 465 motorcyclists took part, raising 33,600 euros for charity.

The event aims to raise community awareness of prostate cancer and mental illness in men – which claim over 1 million men annually. Founded in 2012 in Sydney – Australia by Mark Hawwa, The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride has so far raised over $48 million for men’s health, and by 2024 the target is to raise $6 million worldwide.

The inspiration for Distinguished Gentlemans Ride was a photo of the main character from Mad Men – Don Draper – on a classic motorcycle, wearing his most stylish suit. The initiator of the movement, Mark Hawwa, decided that a themed race would be a great way to combat the all-too-common stereotype of men on motorcycles. The global partners of this event are The Movember Foundation and Triumph Motorcycles.
